Mechanical Horse Rider Position Training : 21 October 2017

Bassett’s Manor, Butcherfield Lane, Hartfield TN7 4LA

We’re back with Amelia for a session on the mechanical horses, this time we’re playing indoors but we will revert to the previous sessions with the option to take your own horse up for a second session putting everything you have just learned into place in the new year.

Both simulators allow the rider to practice and develop their position and riding skills for dressage, flat work and jumping. One horse has three speeds of trot and this allows the rider to practice both sitting and rising trot. The second simulator is a canter-gallop simulator with five speeds. Both models allow the rider to develop their position for both flatwork, jumping and fast work

Sessions on the mechanical horses will:
Developing riding skills while maintaining rider safely
Developing rider confidence
Developing rider balance and co-ordination
Developing an independent seat and core stability
Developing rider position, framework and symmetry

In addition to the above, learning new techniques on a mechanical horse also allows learning to become consolidated and muscle memory to develop without the added complexity of the horses behaviour. It also allows the coach to identify and rectify problem areas as the rider is in such close proximity. The skills developed on the mechanical horse can easily be transferred when riding your horse and you can enjoy the results of an improved partnership and understanding.

Sessions will start at 0900 and be in groups of two, places are limited and we are expecting this to book up fast and it will be on a first come first served basis. If you wish to come with a friend please let me know at the time of booking.

You need to be comfortable so wearing your normal riding clothes is ideal. Close fitting trousers or leggings are also suitable.

£25 for Battle RC members
£30 for non members

HORSE SIMULATOR AND RIDDEN CLINIC

DATES: FRIDAY 4TH NOVEMBER OR SATURDAY 12TH NOVEMBER

VENUE: BASSETTS MANOR, HARTFIELD, EAST SUSSEX

This clinic is great for improving your ridden position on a horse simulator and then transferring what you have practiced straight onto your own horse. If you are between horses or would rather just practice on the simulator – that’s fine.

You can choose, book and pay online.

We need to have your entry by 20th October.

P1050100This is how the session is organised:

Working in pairs, you will first have a session on Amelia’s horse simulator. There are two horses and saddles provided, dressage or GP, or you can bring your own saddle.

For 30 minutes you will have an assessment and coaching session for improvement giving you a chance to focus off your horse on the changes you need to make for a better way of going.

The second step is to transfer on to your own horse, still working in your pairs, for practical application and more coaching. This part runs usually for 45 minutes.

This is a great way to make beneficial changes in friendly and helpful environment – using not just a simulator but also your very own horsey partner! The best of both worlds!

This clinic is dedicated to improving rider performance and building confidence, supplied by a highly qualified instructor Amelia Wilbourn, BHSII(reg) and Senior RWYM Biomechanics Coach.

Cost for members: £45

Cost for non members £55

Cost for mechanical horse only- Members £28 Non members £30
