Dawned very wet and windy. Did not put up my brothers tent, so used
Mums trailer as secretaries tent. Very ably run by Lesley Reed and
Pat Lewis throughout the day. Julie Ramus ran the show jumping keeping it very small on the slippery conditions for the keen little ones. As the sun came out and we dried out the courses got larger. Kirsty jumped a super clear in the open which impressed the young handlers waiting for their class. The workers jumped better this year. Judged by Dawn Gooch and stewarded by Lynn Sutton. The champion was Diamond Franco and Kirsty Lewis. The flat ring ran very smoothly with Judge Jenny Bourne and her daughter Georgina stewarding. Master Classes were given by Georgina as she is a PUK elite rider. Noel De Quincey gave her years of experience in the other classes. Other stewards in this ring were Yvonne Levi and Marilyn Kearley. Marilyn Kearley judged the Riding Club Horse and Ridng Club Piny. The champion was Mischievous Lady and Suzanne Wells after some nifty pony swapping by Lorraine. The handy pony was again run this year by Pam Bailey and family. Thanks to Rachel Sargent for standing in as the judge in the in-hand Mountain and Moorland. Luckily the tractor was not required. Happy smiley faces came to give their thanks at the end of the day clutching fistfuls of Lorraine's lovely rosettes. No clearing up as this will be done by Pony Cub mums at the end of the month. Just a note of thanks to Battle and District Riding Club members who attended. The ladies who rang to offer their help and did! And the B&DRC Mums. |
